At Mount Alvernia Academy, we offer wide variety of enriching after- school programs. These programs are available to all grade levels, and over 50% of the student body participates. Activities are specifically chosen to provide appropriate, rewarding enrichment opportunities for our students. Students are given the opportunity to experience new areas, meet new friends and express their creativity. Some examples of what we offer include Robotics, Band, Art Club, Chess Club, Glee Club, Knitting Club and more.
The Mount Alvernia Student Council is a group of elected students in Grades 3 through 6 who serve the community. These active students develop leadership skills through planning, communicating, and working effectively with their peers, faculty, and administration. Living the mission of Mount Alvernia Academy, they share their gifts with others to make the world a better place.
MAA's Student Council has a voice in the Academy. Through their efforts, new initiatives have been undertaken. They are responsible for liturgies, the Annual Veterans' Day observance, the Thanksgiving Food Drive, and clean-up at school-wide events. Their fundraising efforts through the Outstanding October calendar drive and Bingo raise the money needed for the MAA tee shirts that are distributed to each student on Field Day. Modeling service to others, these students become leaders who recognize needs and become catalysts for change.
MAA's Student Council reflects the high standards of our Franciscan community.
