Music: Nursery – Grade 2

The music room at MAA echoes with the joyful voices of children singing, moving, and creating. From Nursery through Grade 6, every student participates in a vibrant, discovery-based music curriculum that fosters creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of the arts. Rooted in rich choral traditions, folk literature, nursery rhymes, and traditional singing games, our program nurtures musical understanding while reflecting the spirituality of our Catholic faith.

Through active participation, students learn the essential elements of music — rhythm, melody, harmony, and expression — building a strong foundation for future study and performance.

Nursery – Grade 2:

In the earliest years, students embark on a joyful journey of musical discovery. Through singing, creative movement, and rhythm-based activities, they begin to experience the expressive power of sound and song. Using rhythm sticks, scarves, boomwhackers, xylophones, and percussion instruments, children explore beat, melody, and form in ways that are both engaging and developmentally appropriate. Each class encourages active participation, attentive listening, and coordination, helping students build confidence while developing a natural sense of rhythm and musicality.
