The music room at MAA echoes with the joyful voices of children singing, moving, and creating. From Nursery through Grade 6, every student participates in a vibrant, discovery-based music curriculum that fosters creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of the arts. Rooted in rich choral traditions, folk literature, nursery rhymes, and traditional singing games, our program nurtures musical understanding while reflecting the spirituality of our Catholic faith.
Through active participation, students learn the essential elements of music — rhythm, melody, harmony, and expression — building a strong foundation for future study and performance.
In the upper grades, students refine their musicianship through ensemble collaboration, piano study, and introductory composition. They deepen their understanding of music theory, notation, and score reading while continuing to perform in both recorder and vocal ensembles. As their technical skills mature, students focus on interpretation, expression, and confident stage presence.
Voice training and choreography prepare students for the Sixth Grade Spring Musical—a beloved MAA tradition that serves as the culmination of their elementary music experience. This production showcases their creativity, teamwork, and dedication, bringing together years of study in a beautiful celebration of music and performance.
