Technology serves as a powerful educational tool at MAA. It does not drive our curriculum; rather, it enhances it. Used alongside traditional pencil-to-paper work, technology deepens understanding, fosters creativity, and supports collaboration. Beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through Grade 6, students build digital literacy and critical-thinking skills while practicing responsible and safe technology habits. The curriculum integrates typing, coding, and digital citizenship with hands-on experiences using GSuite and other educational platforms.
In Kindergarten, students are introduced to the world of technology primarily through paper-based activities that build foundational understanding before hands-on computer use. They learn to identify different types and parts of devices and explore how computers work. Lessons introduce basic coding concepts and the principles of digital citizenship, including online safety and media balance. Students also learn about influential innovators who have shaped the digital world, developing early awareness of how technology connects to everyday life and learning.
