Technology: Grade 3

Technology serves as a powerful educational tool at MAA. It does not drive our curriculum; rather, it enhances it. Used alongside traditional pencil-to-paper work, technology deepens understanding, fosters creativity, and supports collaboration. Beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through Grade 6, students build digital literacy and critical-thinking skills while practicing responsible and safe technology habits. The curriculum integrates typing, coding, and digital citizenship with hands-on experiences using GSuite and other educational platforms.

Grade 3 students expand their technology skills using GSuite tools including Classroom, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. They learn to organize, create, and present digital work while practicing responsible online behavior. Lessons strengthen typing fluency, coding vocabulary, and digital citizenship. Students complete WebQuests, explore binary code, and practice proper research and citation methods. They also study early computing innovator Ada Lovelace, connecting history to modern digital applications.
