Technology serves as a powerful educational tool at MAA. It does not drive our curriculum; rather, it enhances it. Used alongside traditional pencil-to-paper work, technology deepens understanding, fosters creativity, and supports collaboration. Beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through Grade 6, students build digital literacy and critical-thinking skills while practicing responsible and safe technology habits. The curriculum integrates typing, coding, and digital citizenship with hands-on experiences using GSuite and other educational platforms.
In fourth grade, students deepen their digital proficiency while continuing to emphasize safe and effective technology use. They advance their work with GSuite applications such as Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Drawings, Forms, and Slides, and learn to identify key computer hardware components including the CPU and motherboard. Lessons focus on accuracy, efficiency, and creativity through coding projects, digital design, and research with citations. Students also participate in engaging activities such as designing geofilters and solving digital escape rooms that strengthen collaboration and critical thinking.
