Mount Alvernia Academy (MAA), a Franciscan Catholic Elementary school (Preschool through Grade Six) has a job opening for an Admissions Coordinator beginning July 1, 2021. We are seeking an energetic, organized, self-motivated, service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to join our team. A successful candidate should have a solid understanding of the enrollment goals. The Admissions Coordinator will represent the school and its mission to educate and nurture students in a challenging academic environment to become life-long learners and responsible Christians. The Academy cultivates a desire within our students to share their God-given gifts with the world, which has been entrusted to them.

Scope of Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement, this full-time, twelve-month position provides comprehensive support and is responsible for the daily oversight of Admissions efforts. This position also supports marketing, social media, and grant writing. The Admissions Coordinator is a key team member in the execution of activities and events for the Office of Institutional Advancement with an emphasis on those that will increase enrollment and retention.

General Responsibilities:

Admissions & Communications

• Direct the enrollment process from inquiry to enrollment.
• Conduct applicant interviews and manage family visits to campus.
• Work with the Director of Institutional Advancement to plan and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy.
• Plan and execute admission events on and off campus.
• Actively communicate with prospects and referral sources.
• Serve as a DSO for SEVIS.
• Collaborate with team members on the development of marketing materials including brochures, postcards, videos, view books, and the school website.
• Plan and execute social media marketing plan.


• Grant Writing & Proposal Development as part of Institutional Advancement efforts to support the Academy.

Qualified Applicants:

• Ideal candidate should have admission experience in an independent school.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially MS Word and MS Excel—and skills in performing MS Word merges is required.
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and sensitivity to confidential matters.
• Able to meet deadlines, think strategically, and work independently.
• Prefer candidate with bachelor’s degree.

Special Work Requirements:

Flexibility in work schedule for events and other needs – possible nights and weekends.
