Mrs. Mary Mazza

Years in Education: 35 years

Years at MAA: 30 years

Why I teach: My family instilled in me the importance of education. My siblings and I were encouraged to read which led to myI enjoyment of learning. Thus began my road to becoming a teacher. My own children began their educational path at MAA.  They moved on, but I stayed behind and am thrilled to be part of this community! Working with Mrs. Abbott, my Grade 1 partner teacher, brings joy every day.

As a team, we feel a sense of pride watching the first graders grow and thrive. Their enthusiasm is evident when they complete their Penguin Project which incorporates reading, math, social studies, science, technology, and library skills. In Social Studies, the first graders learn about the world and their place in our world. This broadens their respect for God’s creation, as well as their appreciation for their family, school, and community.
