This project started as the Innovation Lab Challenge on #GivingTuesday in November 2019. With the support of Tricia Tilford and Matt Janchar (parents of MAA alums '17 and '20) who provided the challenge, the MAA community came together not only to meet the challenge but exceed it. After we were forced to close in March due to COVID-19, this project was put on hold. However, the Franciscan Sisters and our Board of Directors were determined to make this dream a reality, and construction commenced this past summer.
Our fourth-grade classes and a sixth-grade cohort have moved to the new space. The students and teachers are so happy in their new classrooms, and we are looking forward to being able to continue our hands-on award-winning STEM program in September in the Innovation Lab.
