Remembering September 11th Our Grade 4 students led the service, highlighting the inspiring story of Welles Remy Crowther, "The Man in the Red Bandana." In Welles' memory and as a visible sign of unity, students, faculty, and staff wore a red bandana. As a Franciscan school, we reflected on Welles' example of selfless service and how he used his gifts to help others—a powerful embodiment of our mission. Students considered how they can wear their own "invisible" red bandana every day through simple acts, asking themselves: How can I be a peacemaker today? Welles Crowther lived our mission in a profound way, and his legacy calls us to do the same, starting with everyday acts of kindness and compassion. As members of the MAA community, may we live out that mission each day, showing Christ's love in how we learn, serve, and care for one another.
