Technology: Grade 6

Technology serves as a powerful educational tool at MAA. It does not drive our curriculum; rather, it enhances it. Used alongside traditional pencil-to-paper work, technology deepens understanding, fosters creativity, and supports collaboration. Beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through Grade 6, students build digital literacy and critical-thinking skills while practicing responsible and safe technology habits. The curriculum integrates typing, coding, and digital citizenship with hands-on experiences using GSuite and other educational platforms.

By Grade 6, students exhibit mastery of essential technology skills and apply them to complex, project-based learning. They continue to use GSuite tools alongside creative platforms such as Canva to produce visually compelling and well-organized digital work. Lessons include advanced coding practice, research and citation mastery, and ongoing reinforcement of digital citizenship. Students participate in interactive digital escape rooms and the Teen App Entrepreneur Project, where they apply problem-solving, design thinking, and innovation to develop their own app concepts—preparing them for the next stage of their academic journey and beyond.
