Religion
Grounded in daily prayer and faith-based learning, the Religion curriculum nurtures students’ faith, compassion, and awareness of God’s presence in their everyday lives. Children learn and practice the Sign of the Cross, participate in daily prayers, and explore lessons connected to the liturgical seasons—Advent, Christmas, and Easter—culminating in joyful celebrations such as the Crowning of Mary. Service is woven throughout the program, as students take part in acts of kindness in the classroom as well as meaningful projects including penny jars and food drives. Through these shared experiences, children grow in gratitude and come to recognize and reflect God’s love in their relationships with others.
Language and Literacy
The Language and Literacy program builds strong foundational skills in communication, reading, and writing. Students engage with songs, poems, and finger play that promote phonemic awareness and rhythm. Storytime and school library visits foster a love for literature and listening comprehension. Instruction focuses on recognizing uppercase letters, identifying and tracing names, and developing fine motor control for early writing. Through group discussions and partner activities, children learn to express themselves clearly, take turns speaking, and listen attentively to others, cultivating both confidence and respect in communication.
Mathematics
The Mathematics curriculum emphasizes exploration and understanding through play-based learning. Students practice number recognition from 1–10, counting with manipulatives and during calendar time, and developing one-to-one correspondence. Foundational math concepts such as sorting by color, shape, and size, recognizing patterns, and identifying basic shapes are reinforced through hands-on activities. These experiences help children build logical thinking, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills essential for future learning.
Science and Social Studies
Artistic Exploration
Students express creativity and joy through music and art experiences woven throughout the curriculum. In Music class, children sing, listen, and move to songs connected to classroom themes and seasons of the year. They explore rhythm and coordination through dance and yoga. Students experiment with paint, glue, crayons, and markers to create projects that foster fine motor skills and self-expression. These activities encourage confidence, creativity, and appreciation for the arts for a lifetime.
Fine and Gross Motor Development
Fine and gross motor development are intentionally integrated into daily routines to support coordination, strength, and focus. Fine motor activities include cutting, coloring, and using tools such as tongs or clothespins to strengthen hand muscles. Gross motor growth is supported through outdoor playground play, gym sessions with balls and parachutes, and classroom movement activities like dancing and yoga. Together, these experiences promote balance and body awareness.
Social Emotional Learning
The Social Emotional curriculum supports each child’s growth as a kind, cooperative, and confident learner. Morning free play encourages imagination and friendship-building, while table toys and group activities promote teamwork and sharing. Snack, lunch, and classwork with rotating seats foster inclusion and adaptability. Recess and Circle Time provide opportunities for practicing social rules, expressing emotions, and resolving conflicts respectfully. Through these experiences, students learn empathy, self-regulation, and the value of community.
